In the tomb with the body and in hell with the soul, in paradise with the thief and on the throne with the Father and the Spirit, wast Thou, O boundless Christ, filling all things.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The Valdosta Mission is currently not active.

Our last regular service was held Sunday, June 2, 2013.  There are still Orthodox Christians in the area, and opportunities for pastoral support are anticipated.  If you would like to add your name to a list of interested people, please contact Ken Smith.  God willing, this ministry will be revived.

The rest of this site will remain active temporarily, as an archive of our past activities.

Mission

Valdosta Orthodox Christian Mission

Our mission is to bring the Orthodox Christian faith to our community. We provide information about the Orthodox Church and access to Orthodox worship to satisfy the spiritual needs of the Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike. All our services are in the English language. We invite you to come find rest for your soul in the Orthodox Church.

Message to Non-Orthodox

We would love to have you come visit us!  Orthodox Christianity involves many customs which are unfamiliar to western Christians.  You may find the following essay by Frederica Mathewes-Green helpful:  12 Things I Wish I'd Known; First Visit to an Orthodox Church.  If you have questions about the Church or the Mission, feel free to contact us by email or phone.
